AU PAIR VACANCY
We are looking for a dynamic Au Pair to look after two children ages 5 and 3.


Duties

  • Plan and conduct an effective children development program to meet the physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs of each child.
  • Ensure that children care routines are carried out in a manner that is prompt, hygienic, and consistent with the good children development principles. This includes routines related to hand washing, eating, napping and transitioning between activities.
  • Ensure the safety of children through constant supervision, effective arrangement of space, proper maintenance of equipment, and regular practice of fire drills and other emergency procedures.
  • Create an open, friendly, and cooperative atmosphere in which the children and family feel comfortable and secure in a Christian household.
  • Provide experiences that promote individual expression through conversation, play and creativity.
  • Provide a variety of language stimulation activities.
  • Ensure that parents receive adequate information about their children's experiences during the course of the day/week through a communication book and regularly scheduled parent meetings.
  • Maintain written records designed to evaluate the children's development.
  • Promote and nurture parent-children bonding and relationships.
  • Initiate activities daily (sing-a-longs, art projects, sensory exploration, outdoor stimulation).
  • Observe children to detect signs of illness, injury, abuse, neglect, emotional disturbance, or other special needs, and report these signs immediately to the parent(s)
  • Use equipment and supplies safely and conscientiously, keeping physical environment clean and orderly.
  • Maintain confidentiality of children and family information at all times.
  • Inspect the home site and equipment for potential safety hazards; taking corrective action or informing the parent(s) to prevent injuries.
  • Contribute to the sharing of information gained through attendance at workshops and professional reading.
  • Supervise homework and take the children to their extra mural activities as required.
  • Proactive communication with parents.

Requirements:


  • Must have experience as an Au Pair;
  • Must have a teaching qualification;
  • Must have a valid drivers (code 8) licence with no endorsements;
  • Some experience with special needs children would be advantageous;
  • Must be able to work extended hours and travel with the family as and when required.

Salary:
From R10,000.00 per month
