We are looking for a National Security Manager within the Telecommunication industry for the Johannesburg area - this will be on a hybrid working model.


Requirements:


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • A relevant Security Management Diploma, or equivalent qualification.
  • A Business Management Degree (e.g., Bachelor of Business Administration) is an advantage.
  • Certifications: Registered PSIRA Grade A security certificate (optional)
  • Training Courses: Security Training, Crisis Management, First Aid

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • A minimum of 15 years' work experience in similar roles in public and/or private sectors, which includes the following:
  • At least 8 years' private sector experience
  • Experience in data analysis and control room operations
  • Experience in desktop investigations
  • At least 5 years' people management experience.
  • Technical competencies could typically include:
  • Computer literacy, e.g., MS Office, specifically MS Excel, Applications, Workflow tools, Databases, Data Analytic tools
  • Numeracy skills
  • SLA management skills
  • Business report writing skills (including presentation skills)
  • Risk management skills
  • Process management skills
  • Cost management and budgeting skills

SUMMARY:


  • To serve as the security focal point for South Africa.
  • To manage and oversee the security contract with the security services partner for the company South Africa, ensuring good governance and compliance.
  • To comply with the Region's security framework and methodology.
  • To establish a strong governance plan and ensure it is implemented in accordance with the Region's methodology, whilst it is both granular and contextspecific for the company South Africa.
  • To ensure that the company's global crisis management and security risk management strategies and associated programmes in South Africa are implemented and managed.
  • To ensure that the data collected through different security platforms is scrutinised thoroughly.
  • To make recommendations to optimise the existing security measures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Subject matter expertise

  • Acts as the trusted advisor to the company's South Africa's senior leadership on security, crisis management, business integrity and other securityrelated matters.
  • Responsible for always being abreast of new developments, trends, and technologies.
  • Provides SME inputs into the RFP process and manages the RFP process according to procurement's guidelines.
Compliance with security framework, methodology and policies

  • Ensures adherence with the Region's security framework and methodology.
  • Ensures adherence to the governance framework.
  • Oversees the localisation, implementation, and maintenance of corporate policies, standards, guidelines, processes, procedures, and plans that govern and manage security.
Security Operations Centre (SOP)


Manages the technical service providers and ensures that they perform in accordance with the Service Level Agreement (SLA), and enforces corrective actions on breaches.


For example:

  • Ensures that the Security Operations Centre (SOP) remains the first line of defense by developing sound and effective standard operating procedures.
  • Ensures that the company SA's security systems connected to the SOC are always operational.
  • Ensures that the SOC is empowered to mobilise reaction forces during breakins and illegal entrances on all the company' SA sites.
  • Ensures that digital assets such as CCTV units and security computers are protected from unauthorised access.
  • Ensures that the root cause of excessive use of data and airtime in the SOC is analysed, and implements cost effective and costsaving measures.
  • Ensures security breaches and weak links in the security protection system are identified.
  • Ensures the service provider manages convictions, and that convictions are secured on prosecuted cases by advocating for the implementation and use of "Crime Committed Under Essential Infrastructure Act".
  • Coordinates and monitors security deployments on sites, in partnership with maintenance contractors, to eliminate potential risks which may cause a negative impact to THE COMPANY SA assets and performance.
  • Ensures there is effective crowd control.
Stakeholder management

  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including customers.
  • Collaborates with internal teams (e.g., Public Affairs) to cultivate and maintain relationships with external entities relevant to corporate security, such as government and law enforcement agencies, industry bodies, regulatory agencies, and private sector counterparts.
Implementation of security-related programmes

  • Ensures that the company's global crisis management and security risk management strategies and associated programmes are implemented and managed in South Africa.
  • Implements and oversees key security programmes to protect critical assets, which may include:
  • The company security reporting
