Introduction:

We are looking for someone that is technically minded, organised and who has a high attention to detail. Someone who is keen to be involved and grow within our organisation within the Stores and Maintenance division. This is an excellent opportunity with an established and growing manufacturing company building its international expansion.


Overall responsibility:


As the Boiler maker, you will need to monitor the functioning of all equipment used as well as plan and conduct any maintenance requirements within the plant.

You will play an essential role within the company and will be required to be able to read drawings, have the ability to shape and fabricate as well as be prepared to work long hours.


Duties include:


  • Site Work_
  • Complete routine inspections at the start of every shift.
  • Rectify problems identified in routine inspections.
  • All installation and maintenance.
  • Stainless steel manufacturing and welding.
  • Manufacture, repair, assemble and weld all steel related Items and structures.
  • Carry out mechanical work.
  • Replace or repair broken valves, pipes, or joints, using hand and power tools, gas torches, and welding equipment.
  • Report all defects and/or conditions preventing the completion of maintenance activities as prescribed by the job card system.
  • Assist with projects, and repairs of faulty equipment as required.
  • Attend to breakdowns and carry out maintenance on plant machinery as well as mechanical breakdowns.
  • Take corrective and preventative action whenever necessary during the execution of duties. Such action may involve reporting the problem to your supervisor to ensure the proper and correct handling of the situation.
  • Be willing to work overtime and callouts.
  • Conduct onthejob coaching when and where necessary.
  • Planning and Administration_
  • Planning and communication of all routine maintenance needs and ensure maximum plant availability by being proactive.
  • Write technical reports.
  • Risk Assessments to be conducted regularly on all areas.
  • Maintain all welding equipment, gas bottles and lines in compliance with company standards.
  • Ordering of spares through the purchasing department.
  • Perform changes to documentation i.e. manuals and all instrumentation drawings.
  • Health and Safety_
  • Help maintain good housekeeping practices and ensure that area of responsibility complies with all health and safety regulations and procedures as well as company policies.
  • Ensure the safety of people and plant machinery by adhering to company safety procedures.
  • Ensure all work tools are safe and properly maintained and stowed away.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness of all workstations and areas surrounding them.

Key skills & experience:


  • Matric.
  • Red seal certification and a min N
  • Excellent Drawing reading comprehension
  • An indepth understanding of health and safety compliance rules
  • The ability to shape and fabricate.
  • Previous experience as a Boiler Maker.

Advantageous:


  • Experience in conveyor belts, pumps, motors, crushers, and mills added advantage.
  • Forklift License.
  • Based in Vanderijlpark.
