Who are we looking for:
An experienced communications specialist with the ability to sell, who has preferably worked in the banking sector and is a confident communicator and presenter.
What will you do:
- This position will lead the organisation in terms of communication to both internal and external stakeholders as well as focus on sales and onboarding of new members and industries.
- Oversee all internal and external communications
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies
- Understand the various LSM groups that are present within a member's client base
- Measure the impact of communication strategies on a continuous basis to evaluate effectiveness and to ensure maximum impact
- Work with external branding company to plan and manage the design, content, and work of all marketing materials
- Work with external PR company to formulate effective media releases to all media outlets
- Conduct radio and television interviews at various times of the day and weekends when necessary
- Manage the social media and website presence of the company proactively to ensure that the organisational presence is informative, creative contemporary and relevant
- Facilitate the acquisition of sponsorships and execute the promotions for any events. Planning and execution of conferences, webinars, productlaunches and other events
- The position reports to the CEO directly
What do you need:
- Bachelor's degree or similar in journalism or marketing or communications or public relations
- Relevant experience of at least 7 years in a similar role
- Experience in sales of services
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, professional printing/publishing skills are essential, including ability to present concepts verbally.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Superior project management and time management skills
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude in developing marketing content for both internal and external audiences
- Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends and communication practices as well as tools in digital /social media
- Selfmotivated and proactive with a positive and professional approach and the ability to meet deadlines
- Exceptional listening skills and analytical ability with the necessary attention to detail
- The ability to work under pressure with welldeveloped interpersonal skills to work in a team environment internally of the organisation as well as external teams of the member organisations and service providers.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking) is a necessity. African languages (speaking) will be an advantage
- Communications background within the Banking Sector will be an advantage
