Description

We are looking for a Drive technician to repair, install and service existing VSDs as well commission new general purpose drive installations.

The role is a hybrid role between site and the office. Must also be able to interpret electrical drawings in fault finding situations.

Support the technical department in carrying out board level repairs and VSD testing.
Support the technical department with drive installations and removal.
Record necessary information on reports so we have a historic database to refer back to
To understand electronic principles for drives.
To detect electrical problems with drives.
Exercise accuracy and professionalism in repair work.
Manage all assigned jobs as per the company's requirements to provide smooth workflow in our business management system.
Fault find and perform board level repairs on variable speed drives
Run testing of variable speed drives to simulate faults
Run testing of variable speed drives after repairs are carried out
Install and commission variable speed drives
Keep an accurate time sheet and enter labour hours into job management system
Perform fault finding on equipment on site if required.
Sourcing of parts and creation of quotes that include estimation of labor

REQUIREMENTS:

10+ years of work experience in the electronics field
Relevant qualifications, Electrical, Electronics
Proven working experience in an electronic technician's role
Solid understanding of electrical principles and electronic signals
Proven ability to fault find using electrical drawings
Detail orientated and organized
Handson experience with variable speed drives
Well Spoken English Language
Proficient in Microsoft word and excel
Customer service driven

Education:

Bachelors (preferred)

Experience:

- electronic technicians: 7 years (preferred)
- understanding of electrical principles, electronic signals: 5 years (preferred)
- ability to fault find using electrical drawings: 5 years (preferred)
