This role offers a chance to lead a dedicated team and create exceptional experiences for both guests and staff in a dynamic environment.


About the Role:
In this influential role, the General Manager will oversee the creation of enriching experiences at a prestigious game lodge.

Responsible for driving the lodge's success, the General Manager will act as a brand ambassador, maintain high standards, and ensure a streamlined management structure.

They will also play a key role in developing future leaders within the lodge and the wider organization.


Key Focus Areas:

  • General Management:_
  • Collaborate with the General Manager of Operations and the leadership team to ensure seamless property operations.
  • Represent the brand by hosting site inspections.
  • Uphold company standards and establish effective management practices in line with industry trends.
  • Drive innovation and stay informed about hospitality trends and competitor offerings.

Staff Management:
_

  • Identify and nurture individuals with potential for growth within the lodge and the broader organization.
  • Implement training programs and facilitate crossproperty training for skill enhancement.
  • Provide strong leadership, mediation, and support to the team, promoting collaboration and growth.
  • Performance Management:_
  • Lead the implementation of Performance Management and Succession Planning processes.
  • Conduct Performance Planning discussions, define KPIs, and ensure meaningful performance appraisals.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 35 years of management experience in a similar wildlife setting at a General Management Level Role will report into board and Senior Group Management.
  • F&B background advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Valid Code 08 driver's license and reliable transport.
  • Attention to detail and hygiene standards.
  • Guestfocused mindset, embodying the brand and experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Positive attitude, time management, and problemsolving skills.
  • Initiative, creativity, adaptability, and resilience under pressure.
  • Passionate about sustainable tourism and conservation.
