Purpose of the Job:


  • To ensure compliance in transport operation in order to meet customer service requirements and ensure compliance with all HSEQ policies and procedures for effective business operations

Location:


Durban - Wentworth Terminal

What you'll have done before:


Baseline:

  • NQF Level 6 (

National Diploma:
Transport & Logistics

  • At least 5 years Transport Compliance related experience with five of these linked to Safety Systems implementation and monitoring, BTO training and coaching & HSEQ audits
- degree preferred or equivalent 10 years work experience.

  • Exceptional Driver Training skills
  • Deep knowledge of SMITH system and Transport.
  • Experience working with drivers, depots staff and transport contractors

Advantageous:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Transport & Logistics.
  • Ability to work successfully in an everchanging environment and navigate ambiguity
  • Demonstrated ability to travel.
  • Advanced training and coaching skill or desire to acquire same

What you'll be doing:


  • Full participation in conducting Route Hazard Mapping (RHM) & Site Hazard Mapping (SHM).
  • Full participation in conducting and reviewing Behaviour Observation Safety (BOS) as per schedule
  • Full participation in reviewing In Vehicle Monitoring System (IVMS) as per schedule.
  • HSEQ Incidents participation on Route Cause Analysis (RCA) and sharing of lessons
