Description
Identifying opportunities for new services/products.

  • Developing and implementing strategies for relevant portfolio growth.
  • Develop continuous improvement practices to ensure accuracy and efficiency of processes
  • Writing marketing requirements documents (MRDs) and product requirement documents (PRDs)
  • Managing the entire lifecycle of services/products from ideation to retirement.
  • Implementing effective product launch strategies.
  • Planning for product enhancements and updates.
  • Coordinate trial/project processes in newly identified areas to ensure successful delivery of required trial outcomes and change management
  • Working with Research & Development and other technical departments to finalise product and functional specifications
  • Prescribing optimal revenue and profitability targets to the sales force.
  • Monitoring and controlling costs associated with portfolio management.
  • Maximising the return on investment for each service/product.
  • Providing relevant product, equipment and spares pricing within quotations to customers if required
  • Manage budget allocation for portfolio initiatives.
  • Monitor and control costs within the assigned portfolio.
  • Conducting market research to understand industry trends.
  • Analysing competitive landscapes and positioning the portfolio accordingly.
  • Identifying initiatives to support target markets and customer segments.
  • Engage directly with customers to gather feedback.
  • Resolve operational issues and address customer concerns.
  • Implementing improvements based on customer feedback.
  • Identify and address operational risks associated with the portfolio.
  • Implement contingency plans to mitigate potential issues.
  • Monitoring external factors that may impact the portfolio.
  • Comply with governance and established policies, systems, procedures and practices
  • Comply with Safety, Health and Environment standards
  • Collaborating with sales, marketing, operations, and other departments.
  • Ensuring effective communication and coordination within AECI Mining.
  • Facilitating teamwork to achieve portfolio objectives.
  • Running alpha/beta programs and capturing early customer feedback
  • Coordinate product training/support within deployed regions/subsidiaries
  • Participate in Risk assessments on any new ideas and or hazardous operations
  • Product consultations and investigations
  • Product Application knowledge and support (Package Explosives, Bulk Explosives, Boosters and Initiating Systems)
  • Lead and motivate crossfunctional teams within the portfolio.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration.

Qualifications & Experience:


  • BSc, BCom or BEng degree, MBA
  • Qualified assessor
  • At least 5 years mining or related experience
  • Knowledge of AECI Mining Explosives' products, equipment and services
  • Knowledge of mining conditions, extreme or standard
  • Explosives Engineer
  • Working knowledge of SAP system
  • Knowledge of the OHS Act, Explosives Act and the MHSA.
  • Knowledge of mining explosives industry and products
  • Field experience in the use of relevant products and services
  • Product and service training facilitation ability
  • Customer relationship management ability
  • Financial acumen and data analysis ability
  • Development of marketing packs
  • Advanced MS Excel knowledge
  • Project management is advantageous
