Managing the unit's staffing and scheduling to ensure adequate coverage at all times, as well as managing performance and staff development.


  • Ensuring the unit is properly equipped with necessary medical equipment and supplies, and ensuring that all equipment is in good working order.
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure that the unit operates in compliance with regulatory requirements, such as those related to patient safety and infection control.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as obstetricians, neonatologists, and anesthesiologists, to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care.
  • Overseeing patient care, including the management of highrisk pregnancies and complicated deliveries.
  • Monitoring patient outcomes and tracking key performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and ensure that the unit is meeting quality standards.
  • Managing the unit's budget and financial performance, including monitoring expenses and revenue, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with patients, families, and staff, and ensuring that the unit provides compassionate and patientcentered care.
