A well-established casket manufacturing company seeks to employ a Operational Strategic Sales Development Manager

  • Conduct market research and identify customers, potential business development and opportunities for expansion.
  • Develop an indepth knowledge of the company's products and value proposition to negotiate with stakeholders.
  • Building strong, healthy, lasting relationships with customers and service providers.
  • Identify business strengths and customer needs and requirements by conducting market analysis and research.
  • Maintain and retain a database of clients (existing, referrals, leads, prospects) on the CRM and Sage systems.
  • Negotiate and close agreements with customers and hand over to Sales Managers as and when required.
  • Assist in overcoming potential technical barriers.
  • Manage and give support to Sales Managers and teams.
  • Analyse competitor and market data metrics to leverage into expanding the customer base
  • Effectively manage sales budgets to ensure delivery of targets and goals
  • Development and implementation of new policies, processes and procedures for effective and efficient sales operations.
  • Collate and complete sales forecasts, sales activity reports and presentations in a timely manner.
  • Develop sales projects and activities to grow and improve business.
  • Conduct Customer surveys, price and product benchmarking, market and industry analysis.
  • Plan and implement strategic initiatives to attend to gaps identified during market and industry analysis.
  • Monitor and evaluate debtors account and query management.
  • Provide direction and strategy using analytics to generate new business and maintain existing accounts, driving sales & profit in a nominated large market/region.
  • Active Sales Account management, development and profitability.
  • Identification of potential new business opportunities through consultation and cooperation with operational management, planned prospecting, leads, cold calling, tender notices.
  • Arrange and conduct meetings with new and existing business prospects, in conjunction with operational management where appropriate, to market SAFS products
  • Conduct / arrange site surveys to identify risks and develop appropriate solution to meet customer needs.
  • Prepare and submit sales proposals to prospective customers. Where necessary, prepare and conduct sales presentation.
  • Monitor and evaluate the Sage and CRM Systems to ensure the system is constantly updated with required information of new and existing customers.
  • Effective reporting on Sales and Marketing activities to the Management Board.
  • Preparing and submitting monthly reports to the CEO which should include product, customer and market analysis, needs and demands with recommendations and measures to be implemented to mitigate risk and gain competitiveness in the market.
  • Business planning, reporting, data analytics, market research, sales quota setting and management, sales process optimization, sales program implementation, sales force incentive compensation design and administration, sales force recruiting and Management reporting.
  • Designing, compiling, and implementing strategic plans, sales processes, market analysis and research, lead generation processes, customer needs analysis, product demand analysis ,price and product benchmarking, industry analysis, budgeting processes and all other sales related activities,
  • Proactively monitoring and maintaining high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in the sales environment.
  • Establishing sales objectives and goals and developing and implementing processes for successful achievement.
  • Working closely with sales management to inspect sales processes quality and prioritize opportunities for improvement.
  • Assists sales management in understanding process bottlenecks and inconsistencies.
  • Facilitates an organization of continuous process improvement.
  • Provide input to senior leadership in the development and administration of sales incentive compensation programs.
  • Designs complex plans tied to budgets & strategies, performance data capture against targets, and payment execution.
  • Collaborating with senior executive team to understand the overall business strategy.
  • Forecast and budgeting of the annual, quarterly, and monthly sales plans to ensure the achievement of yearly goals.
  • Review and analyse financial reports and statements to identify sales inefficiencies.
  • Analyse markets for product penetration and availability to plan and measure productivity and profitability.
  • Manage successful sales teams and ensure that the teams consistently meet or exceeds daily, monthly and yearly sales performance metrics.
  • Work with other function leads to create and maintain a worldclass sales and operational culture, focused on delivering results by providing ongoing coaching and development of Sales Managers Sales teams.
