We are seeking a Cashier for a permanent vacancy based in Midrand, Gauteng.

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 with relevant cashiering & sales experience (food retailer ideal)
  • Basic PC knowledge and familiar with PointofSale equipment such as electronic registers/scanners
  • Good mathematical skills and customer service ability
  • Good communications skills and time management ability
  • Clear credit / criminal record

The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Handle customer transactions via POS machine
  • Scan items and ensure pricing is accurate
  • Payment collection cash / card
  • Issuing of receipts, refunds, change
  • Redeeming of any relevant stamps / coupons
  • Introduce and cross sell products when necessary
  • Assist customer with queries / complaints
  • Ensure checkout area is clean
  • Bag, box or gift wrap packages when needed
  • Handle returns and exchanges
  • Willing to work retail hours and weekends when needed
