Farm Manager - Gouda

Responsible for the production of plant material on the site


Key Performance Areas:
Irrigation and monthly fertilization of the farm lands. Managing of labour, production and quality. Managing and motivating a team of workers. Implementing and executing farming operations. Assisting in new project realization. Monitoring and reporting on the health of the plants. Manage an integrated pest management program.


Key Performance Areas:

Irrigation of farm lands. (It includes all maintenance of pipes, drippers and equipment used for irrigation of the farm)

Continuous monitoring and maintenance of irrigation equipment.

Compile daily, irrigation and fertilization checklist

Support and act as backup for Nursery/Farm manager.

Transporting and weighing in of Raw Material.

General assistance in tasks on farm and monitoring and managing workers.

Monitoring and reporting on the health of plants.

Any other management task that may be reasonably requested.

Biweekly stand in weekend duty in the nursery.

Promote discipline and responsibility to the workforce.

Promote a culture of mutual respect, honesty and self-discipline.

Requirements:

Maintains self-control

Confident and self-assured

Good listening and communicating skills.

Appropriate technical knowledge of the work being supervised.

Able to maintain consistent standards of performance.


Qualifications:

NQF Level 4.

Tertiary Agricultural / Horticultural qualification.
