Maintenance Technician - Electronics ManufacturingJob Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our electronics manufacturing team.
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our manufacturing equipment and facilities.
Your expertise will contribute to the production of high-quality electronic components, meeting our production goals and quality standards.Responsibilities:
Equipment Maintenance:
Perform routine and preventative maintenance on a variety of electronic manufacturing equipment, including but not limited to soldering stations, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and inspection tools.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions, electrical, and mechanical issues to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
Calibration:
Calibrate and fine-tune equipment to ensure accuracy and precision in electronic component assembly.
Repair:
Repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems to keep the manufacturing process running smoothly.
Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history to facilitate tracking and planning.
Safety:
Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to create a safe working environment for all employees. Identify potential safety hazards and take appropriate measures to mitigate them.
Inventory Management:
Keep track of spare parts, tools, and supplies needed for maintenance and make timely requests for replenishment.
Collaboration:
Work closely with production teams to identify equipment-related issues and implement solutions to minimize disruptions.
Upgrades:
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery. Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies to recommend upgrades and improvements.
Training:
Train and mentor junior maintenance staff in equipment maintenance and repair procedures.
Site Maintenance:
Perform general facility maintenance tasks, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and building repairs.
Groundskeeping:
Maintain the exterior areas, ensuring they are safe and well-maintained.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in electronics, electrical, or mechanical maintenance is a plus.
- Proven experience in maintenance within an electronics manufacturing or similar environment.
- Strong understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in an industrial setting.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and supplies.
- Stand, walk, and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
Working Conditions:
- This role is primarily based in a manufacturing environment, which may involve exposure to machinery noise, dust, and chemicals. Shift work and overtime may be required to support production schedules.
Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent
Salary:
R18, R30,000.00 per month

- Durban, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
