Information System Lead - Shares Services


Job description

Key performance areas


Partner with the shared services business units to ensure their information system requirements are fully understood and deliver the requisite functionality, aligning with the business strategic requirements.

Ensure the business gets appropriate systems support in the form of support, issue resolution and service requests.

Adequately capacitate and manage the BI function to ensure scalable and stable reporting to the business.

Assist and coordinate the Company IT reporting across the group.

Provide project leadership/support as agreed/necessary for special projects.

Plan & execute IT asset refresh actions in alignment to required standards.

Ensure adequate governance, security and risk mitigation of core platforms and operations used across the group is maintained.

Manage escalations, critical risks and operations issued through the appropriate channels.

Maintain governance & controls on shared infrastructure.

Engage 3rd-parties and vendors that fulfil IT functions to enable and maintain the common shared platforms across the group.

Conduct shared services supplier SLA performance & Conformance reviews whilst managing vendor relationships. Ensure services are relevant and are compliant.

Manage the relationships and contracts with support partners and vendors, ensuring they deliver in line with expectations.

Ensure appropriate use of Company IT processes, tools and methodologies.


Define and manage an effective business continuity plan in relation to information systems functionality, ensuring information systems are adequately secured at all times.

Lead, mentor and manage the information systems support team, ensuring:

  • Each team member is appropriately skilled and empowered to provide the necessary information systems support to users.
  • Scheduling of new projects, development and reporting are professionally coordinated, lead and executed within approved scope, cost and time.
Manage information system projects.

Fully understand the reporting and BI components of the information systems landscape to be able to stand in as backup for the BI & IT Business Analyst


Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a technical discipline.

Minimum of 8 years relevant experience.

Microsoft Power Platform development (e.g. Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Sharepoint, etc). Ideally knowledge and experience with Qlikview and Qliksense.

Skills and Attributes
Leadership

Communication (written & verbal) & interpersonal skills.

Ability to influence team members in a cross-functional setup.

Seasoned project management skills.

Business Process Reengineering experience.

Solid understanding of financials (plans, budgets, forecasts, etc.

Strong emotional intelligence.

Proven analytical, leadership and interpersonal skills; team oriented.

Critical problem-solving techniques especially during adverse situations.

Self-starter and highly motivated; Uses sound business judgment. Inquisitive and innovative.
