Requirements:


  • NQF Level 2: With labour skills and valid certification of competency
in the operation of small plant and equipment.

  • A Code 08 driver's license
  • Two years' practical experience of wildlife management, with
specific skills on basic map reading & navigation

  • Practical experience with tools and equipment
  • Basic computer skills will serve as an added advantage
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good Interpersonal Skills
  • Working knowledge of relevant environmental
conservation legislation, both marine & terrestrial

  • Must have basic knowledge of fauna and flora.
  • Will be required to work in all weather conditions
  • Must be willing to be on standby and be on call for disasters
including, but not limited to fires, oil spills and stranding

operations.

  • May be required to stay in council accommodation, may be
required to drive council vehicles

  • Should be Physically fit & healthy
Key Performance Areas

  • Operating of small plant, light equipment and provision of basic
specifications for various projects

  • Carrying out routine biodiversity monitoring
  • Carrying out biodiversity conservation and compliance functions
  • Maintenance and cleaning of biodiversity infrastructure
  • Undertaking basic construction, maintenance and
cleaning of recreational facilities

  • Carrying out infrastructure maintenance including tools,
equipment, storage and care.
