Risk Analyst:
Group Operational Risk - Risk Measurement

Overall Job Purpose

You will have the opportunity to be an integral part of the Group Operational Risk team, in ensuring that risk is identified, measured, reported and challenged to agreed standards across the Group.

In order to be successful in this role, you would need to:

Liaise extensively with business front to back and across infrastructure to build relationships, gain an understanding of the risks, processes and controls, and develop product specific Risk expertise to enable pro-active risk management.
Review risk appetite, limit and exposure control
Investigate, remediate and track Operational Loss Events within the responsible business lines.
Perform quarterly risk measurement and reporting related obligations.
Run and support regular internal meetings and assist in designing a framework and supporting infrastructure for the production of management information and analytics
Ensure the businesses implement a worldclass Operational Risk framework which includes the development and implementation of regulatory models, risk measurement models, governance structures &
Stay abreast of industry standards/trends/economic changes, market movements and position exposures
Perform risk monitoring against limits, and ensure all controls are effective
Provide meaningful commentary to support risk analysis
Develop and provide management information (MI) and quality reports as required by stakeholders as determined and agreed
Perform analysis of data to identify and report any trends that will assist in further improving the management of operational risk.
Act as the primary contact point for all Group Operational Risk analytics and reporting related queries

Your solid banking product and industry knowledge, risk and control background, analytical ability in managing large data sets, strong stakeholder engagement and technical prowess, will stand you in good stead for this role.

Experience & Qualification

NQF level 5 or higher qualification in either Computer Programming, Software Development, Maths/Stats or Commerce/Finance or Risk Management
Database query language/analytics/reporting software would be advantageous (SAS, SQL, Oracle, Python, Qlikview, PowerBI) etc. including a good understanding of data warehousing
Software development skills
Insight into machine learning
High level of numeracy and a lateral innovative thinker
