Supplier Manager - Gauteng, South Africa - J Smith Collier & Associates

An opportunity has become available for a Regional Supplier Growth Manager for our Gauteng, Cape Town, Durban, and Outlying regions.
Purpose of the position:
To increase the partnerships with key FMCG (or related) partners both locally, regionally and nationally: to engage, sell, negotiate, onboard and manage key suppliers.
Duties and Responsibilities but not limited:
- Work closely with our client base and Sales and Service team to source potential suppliers locally, regionally and nationally to target.
- Secure meetings and presentations to sell the concept of supplier payments with the sourced suppliers. Note suppliers should also be sourced independently of the teams support by the person appointed.
- Negotiate and conclude agreements on the approved commercial to proceed with the on board of a supplier. Approval on commercials is required from our Management and will be individually negotiated per supplier.
- Manage the suppliers, customers / prospects and teams' expectations during the onboarding process.
- Manage the uptake of supplier payments vs customer / prospects available to pay the onboarded supplier.
- Manage expected volumes vs actual volumes processed monthly/quarterly/annually.
- Manage customers / prospects available to pay onboarded supplier that are not utilizing this payment platform drive volume growth.
- Keep the customers / prospects and internal teams appraised of any changes or new suppliers onboarded or being negotiated with.
- Working with suppliers and the team on reporting requirements / financial queries once onboarded.
Formal Education and Experience:
- Computer literacy
- Matric essential
- Degree in Marketing, Sales, or related field are advantageous.
- 5 or more years' experience in Sales, Account management or business development in FMCG or Payments company.
Required competences / skills:
- Highgrowth mindset and selfmotivated
- Skilled in sales and negotiations at business owner level, all level as well as semicorporate partners
- Strong communication skills
- Works well under pressure and managing multiple touch points and projects simultaneously.
- Works well within multiple teams / structures
- South African Drivers' License and own vehicle.
