Description
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Production and Operation Management or similar qualification
Experience:
  • At least 5-7 years experience, preferably in a Food Manufacturing Industry
Knowledge required:
  • Basic Knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)
  • Experience in emulsion preparation will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of quality assurance
  • Knowledge of production planning
  • Food safety and good manufacturing practices
  • Ability to report on agreed Key Performance Areas (KPA)
  • Cross-contamination
  • Hygiene and cleaning procedures
Skills Required:
  • Fully literate with good communication skills and be a team player
  • Numeric skills and accuracy are essential
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Operational Procedures
  • Prepare fat emulsion according to provided method
  • Follow mixing procedure as detailed in the recipe
  • Ensure all work is done in accordance with operational procedures
Staff Management
  • Ensure proper timekeeping
  • Ensure personal hygiene checks for all staff before production
  • Ensure staff follow company SOPs and policies
  • Discipline staff as per company guidelines
  • Communicate issues to staff in morning meetings
  • Use a roster efficiently for overtime staffing
  • Ensure staff productivity
Process Management
  • Perform hygiene inspection before production
  • Ensure quality of raw materials
  • Start production on time
  • Follow departmental SOPs
  • Address process bottlenecks
  • Action and reduce bottlenecks
Working according to machine capacity
  • Provide hourly feedback on target achievement
  • Report equipment deviations
Ensuring product quality
  • Maintain product consistency
  • Perform quality checks accurately
  • Conduct root cause analysis for deviations
  • Verify each batch as per recipe
  • Report issues to superiors
  • Report lack of progress to foreman
Implementing and maintaining 5S and Quantum Lean methods
  • Participate in morning meetings
  • Keep boards updated
  • Submit suggestions
  • Conduct fishbowl meetings and group activities
Food safety requirements
  • Stop production in case of contamination risks
  • Report contamination incidents
  • Maintain area and equipment to prevent risks
  • Handle Critical Control Points (CCP) failures
  • Ensure staff is trained on relevant SOPs
  • Communicate food safety issues to all stakeholders
