Responsibilities:


  • Design, implement, and maintain the hotel's gardens to ensure a welcoming and tranquil environment for guests.
  • Collaborate with our hospitality and events team to plan and execute outdoor events in our garden spaces.
  • Conduct regular inspections of plants, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Implement sustainable and ecofriendly gardening practices.
  • Oversee the installation of new plantings and garden features.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Horticulture or a related field.
  • Proven experience in horticulture or landscaping.

Experience:


  • Minimum of 3 years in a horticulture role.
  • Familiarity with the unique plant species of the Knysna region.

Skills:


  • Strong knowledge of plant care, soil management, and pest control.
  • Proficiency in using gardening tools and equipment.
  • Creative flair for designing aesthetically pleasing outdoor spaces.

Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment.
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate seasonal demands.
