A well-established construction and site services firm in Cape Town is looking for the services of an appropriately qualified, dynamic and highly competent Coordinator/Manager for the Plumbing Department.
REQUIREMENTS:
- National N6 or National diploma in mechanical/Civil engineering.
- A minimum of six years posttrade test hands on plumbing experience of which two years should be in a supervisory/managerial role.
- Experience working with plumbing tools, materials and safe work practices.
- Knowledge of plumbing maintenance.
- Knowledge of industrial/commercial and domestic water reticulation systems.
- Knowledge of relevant plumbing codes, legislation, regulations, installation & maintenance procedures.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, manage and lead the activities of subordinates.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
JOB OVERVIEW
- Plan and direct all plumbing jobs.
- Coordinate work between Plumbing and Building divisions.
- Plan, supervise, assign and monitor work of plumbers.
- Inspect and evaluate completed works by Plumbing Teams.
- Ensure installations, work and repairs are performed in accordance with South African National Standards (SANS) standards and codes.
- Assist with the pricing of Plumbing jobs.
- Identify training needs for plumbing staff to keep up with new developments and new products on the market.
- Establish and maintain safety procedures and techniques for Plumbing teams to perform their job duties.
- Oversee and managing operational costs of the Plumbing department.
- Recruitment and training of staff.
- Evaluate performance and productivity of Plumbing teams; take necessary corrective measures, as and when required.
- Ensure superior customer service and quality workmanship.
- Monitor and improve administrative processes in the department.
- Engage with vendors, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Act as custodian of the company's plumbing equipment, tools and vehicles.
REMUNERATION:
- R20, R24,000.00 CTC per month, depending on experience.
- Initial fixed term probation contract of 2 to 3 months.
- Company Cell phone.
- Company Car (during the day for business trips).

R20, R24,000.00 per month
