Job Advert:

We have an exciting contract opprtunity for an Inbound Clerk within our Supply Chain. This position will be based at our offices in Kuilsriver and will report directly to the Inbound Team Leader.

By taking on this opportunity, you will play a significant role within the business by ensuring timeously and accurate collation and processing of documentation for clearing and costing purposes.

If you have minimum of 2 years' experience within in a shipping environment, preferably in a retail company and can work under extreme pressure, then this is the opportunity for you.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

A Grade 12 Certificate/Matric (with Accounting and Mathematics) is essential.

Preferred:

School of Shipping certificate/diploma
Customs certification
Financial Diploma

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

JOB RELATED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

KNOWLEDGE required:

Knowledge of Customs & Tariffs
Knowledge of air

- and sea freight

SKILLS required:

Computer skills, intermediate Excel skills
Communication skills (verbal and written)
Interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently as well as in a team
Attention to detail
Above average numerical ability
Deadline driven
Ability to work under pressure
Able to deal with large volumes of worK

EXPERIENCE required:

A Minimum of 2 years in a shipping department preferably in a retail company is essential
Knowledge of Customs and clearing practices wiould be an added advantage

Key Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

1. Inbound Freight/ Clearing

Timeous completion of clearing instructions
Provide Finance with invoice copies
Information checking on documentation relating to shipping

2. Costing

Ensure receipt of all service provider invoices
Check details of all service providers invoices
Complete and process costings

3. Shipment Control

Obtaining Clearing documents from suppliers
Check documents for compliance
Liase with suppliers to get documents corrected

4. Customs Stops

Monitor with agents
Maintain customs stop report. Send to business

5. Liaise with relevant departments on queried orders

6. Asist the Sample Shop with Gift Cards when required

7. Capture all relevant invoices

8. Furnish all DC's with correct packing information
**9. Maintenance of shipment files
