Job description

Effective cost control through efficient risk management practices
Effective selfmanagement in alignment with MRC values and leadership initiatives
Effective stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth workflows
Effective implementation, monitoring and reporting of all risks and safety processes
Conduct accurate, timely risk and legal inspection audits and communicate recommendations
Conduct fact findings investigations and determine the cause of trends from investigations
Effective and efficient risk administration
Proactive risk identification, mitigation and compliance

Minimum requirements

Grade 12 or NQF level 4 equivalent
National Diploma in Safety / Risk Management or equivalent at NQF level
Blasting Certificate (essential)
SAMSOC 1 & 2 (essential)
Investigation / Tap Root training (preferred)
Proficient in MS Office [Word, Excel, PowerPoint]
Audit certification for ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 1800
At least 5 years' experience in a similar role in the mining sector
Understanding of risk assessment methodologies and principle
Understanding of accident / incident techniques
Basic knowledge of relevant safety principle and systems
Knowledge and understanding of strata control
Ability to conduct investigation and record findings
Hazard identification skills
Problem solving mindset with an ability to make sound recommendations
