Job Summary


We're halfway through 2023, you can still change your career by joining the CIB Cash Management Money Markets team as a Sales Money Market Specialist.

In this role you will be responsible for raising funding for the bank from the corporate market. Responsible for covering a portfolio of clients and generating revenue in accordance with the client set allocated. Build trusted relationships with clients delivering service and execution excellence.


Job Description:

Key Accountabilities

  • The trader also leverages client relationships to explore crossselling opportunities in other areas of the Bank.
  • Interact with corporate clients to understand if they have surplus liquidity (cash to invest) and identify any working capital requirements.
  • Contribute to the bank's funding needs by offering clients suitable money market products and solutions.
  • Seek to understand client needs and add value to clients using knowledge of the Money Market.
  • Keep abreast of developments in money markets, legislation, and statutory requirements.
  • Provide endtoend servicing of existing customers.
  • Develop strategies for acquiring new business.
  • Ensure the administrative portion of the role through data capturing, compiling a quotation, maintaining client database, drafting reports, credits, assisting debtors etc.
  • Compile proposals on pricing and product for submission to clientele.
  • Ensure financial transactions, policies, and procedures meet corporate objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Confirms trades with relevant parties
  • Assist with the onboarding of new clients
  • Add value to clients by identifying opportunities and influencing clients to deal through us.
  • Investigate and embark on a continuous market scanning of local and international peers to identify and stay abreast of market trends and activities to inform opportunities for new or enhanced products and services.
  • Conduct market analysis to attain market intelligence to inform strategies going forward.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Liaise with all business partners to ensure all management information they require is provided to them timeously.
  • Liaise with Treasury and Money Market traders.
Education and Experience Required

  • B Degree in finance or Commerce or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification
  • FAIS Qualification is an advantage (RE5)
  • 3 years of experience in Money Markets. Front office sales environment
  • Knowledge of Money Market products
  • Knowledge of Front arena
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Attention to detail is crucial

Bachelors Degree and Professional Qualifications:
Business, Commerce and Management Studies
