Our Exciting Opportunity:


The role of Chief Information Officer (CIO) positions Ericsson as the strategic partner for operators through vision, thought leadership and technology advisory across Market Area Middle East and Africa.

This roll will drive, support and push a 5G acceleration strategy to improve Ericsson market share in 5G Core, Cloud, OSS, BSS and Enterprise solutions with our lead customers through developing vision and technical rationale for 5G adoption and Cloud Software transformation.


The CIO will also develop, together with the Business Areas (BNEW, BCSS, BTEB) and MMEA Domains, an engagement and positioning strategy around new technologies and industry developments.


You will engage with our customers' CIOs on their technology driven initiatives (5G, Cloud Software Transformation, Network Operations Automation, Monetization, virtualization) encompassing areas of business implications, regulation, technology choices, deployment alternatives and industrial ecosystem.


This role will selectively support our GCUs and CUs with customer related opportunities and challenges that are cross portfolio and that require long term and strategic positioning.


The CIO will act as a mentor and coach to the CU and Key Account Heads of Cloud Software Services across the Market Area.

The CIO scope is focused on the Cloud Software Services portfolio but also requires a high level of e2e understanding of products and services across all Business Areas:

  • Networks
  • Cloud Software Services
  • Emerging Business, Enterprise & IoT


This role will be reporting directly to the Head of Domain Cloud Software and Services (CSS) Market Area Middle East and Africa.


You will be:


  • Support our overall strategy for growth and profitability across all Domains (Networks, Cloud Software Services, Emerging Business and )
  • Work with the Domains to develop, promote and articulate end to end customercentric offerings in Cloud Software Services, Networks.
  • Shape Techno-Commercial Value Argumentation to our customers. The engagement needs to focus on customer value creation based on customer business cases, bringing assets from then different domains to address unique customer insights.
  • Work with our Commercial Management team and accounts to identify new and evolved business models to support our growth and profitability
  • Ensure a close collaboration with Ericsson's Business Areas, Cloud Software Services community and R&D organizations to strengthen the customer relationship through professional knowledge sharing and support in important sales engagements
  • Interface leading customers in the region securing the understanding of competition, market situation, etc building on indepth knowledge & understanding of the customer business requirements.
  • Proactively drive customer dialogue on medium
- and long-term topics to establish trust and build business partnerships.

  • Collect key customer requirements on roadmap, new product and service introduction planning that require complex and strategic decision making with Business Areas
  • Engage with industry analysts and represent Ericsson at technology fora in the Market Area.
  • Provide leadership to the KA/GCU head of Cloud Software Services in the Market Area.
  • Support the development of MMEA ecosystems, leveraging the Innovation Hubs, to facilitate the launch and adoption of IoT and 5G

To be successful in the role you are:

  • Minimum 10 years in IT and Cloud solutions, and/or product management experience in ICT industry
  • Has an excellent network within Ericsson solution & technology experts in GF Technology, the Business Areas
  • E2E Ericsson portfolio knowledge across both Services and Products.
  • In depth knowledge of current and future technology trends and their mapping to Ericsson Portfolio and Strategic Direction
  • Proven track record of effective leadership (working across organizations and projects)
  • Consultative Selling Skills, fluent across engagement models
  • Product engagement, engagement, Services engagement
  • Problem Solving & Strategic Thinking
  • Presentation, communication and influencing skills
  • Experience in technology architecture, management and establishing relationships with customers
