The Forklift Operator's primary purpose is to provide mechanical lifting support to our production operations.

The following tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Effectively move bins material around in the yard as instructed.
  • Ensure that material is properly loaded into containers or trucks using the forklift.
  • Ensure proper stacking and packing of different commodities within various departments.
  • Ensure daily sweeping of the yard to prevent punctures.
  • Attend to general housekeeping within department and designated work area.
  • Conduct daily inspections and report any abnormalities and notify the line manager when the machine's service is due.
  • Maintain standard machine operating procedures when operating the machine and ensure that your machine is loaded with diesel at all times.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, instructions and advice of the H&S manager or representative whenever there are risks identified.

QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE

  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
  • Valid Forklift license and/or certificate.

  • Willingness to work overtime.
  • Previous experience in a physically demanding working environment would be advantageous.
