A renowned establishment and wine estate in Stellenbosch is opening a new, Japanese Restaurant and is looking for an enthusiastic Head Barman to provide an excellent guest drinking experience, who will be able to create classic and innovative drinks that exceed customer's needs and expectations.


Main Responsibilities:

Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons;
Interact with customers, take orders and serve drinks and snacks;
Oversee Barman and overall management of the bar area
Assess customer's needs and preferences and make recommendations;
Mix and prepare ingredients for cocktails.
Plan and present bar menu;
Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies;
Stay guest-focused and nurture an excellent guest experience;
Comply with all food and beverage regulations & ensure minimum losses;
Maintain standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all bar areas;
Check drinks presentations and temperature to make sure of its quality; Ensure everything in the bar is set-up and ready for service, including the coffee stations and all machines;
Assist management in taking bar stock.


Main Requirements:

Preferably 3+ years of previous experience as a or Head Barman;
1-2 years of supervisory or management experience;
Own transport;
Passionate about the hospitality industry;
Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, written and verbal (in person and telephonic);
Strong customer service orientation with excellent people skills;
Ability to maintain a professional working relationship with all departments and across cultures and religions;
Comfortable in dealing with very distinguished clientele;
Honesty, flexibility, accountability and friendliness;
Professional manner and attitude;
Punctual & self-disciplined;
Extreme attention to detail;
Basic computer and administration skills.
