Our client, a leading mining company, is seeking a talented
Database Platforms Specialist to join their team in Johannesburg.

As a Database Platforms Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the company's databases and data management systems are efficient, reliable, and secure.


Responsibilities:


  • Design, develop and maintain the company's databases, data management systems, and data warehouse
  • Optimize database performance, security, and reliability
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate data management systems with other company systems
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any databaserelated issues
  • Keep uptodate with emerging trends and technologies in database management

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration and management
  • Strong knowledge of database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL
  • Experience in data warehousing and ETL processes
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations such as GDPR and POPIA
  • Experience in mining or heavy industry is a plus
  • Strong problemsolving skills and ability to work under pressure
