Description

BUYER/STOCK CONTROLLER, Cape town, Salary ±R20 000, MEDICAL AID, ANNUITY.

Overview:

A successful Stock controller/ Buyer will have documentation and product knowledge necessary to complete tasks neat, correct and on time.

A Stock controller/ Buyer will buy the correct product at the correct price and on time to meet the branch requirements and to fulfill the existing customers' needs.

The Stock controller/ Buyer would be expected to obtain three quotes from different suppliers to ascertain the market value of a product.

The Stock controller/ Buyer needs to buy on account where possible to help maintain a healthy cash flow within the group.

The Stock controller/ Buyer must work closely with the Warehouse Manager to be sure to always keep the minimum approved stock levels.

Slow moving items can only be purchased on confirmed order. All purchases must be conducted within the company's purchasing policy (attached).

Key performance areas

Maintaining stock levels and determining minimum stock quantities
Products obtaining more than R GP per month, must become a stock item
The average of 3 months sales determines the minimum stock level. The highest sold quantity of the three months sales is the required level
The Warehouse Manager needs to approve all orders before sending to the supplier
Price Requests
Local price requests should be done within 24 Hours
Confirmation of the price and volume should be always confirmed via mail with the supplier once the sales staff have confirmed and followed up with a Purchase Order
Stock Transfers
Stock transfers need to be conducted in such a manner that service delivery targets are met as per the company's policy
Stock transfer transport orders for collection are to be arranged as per the scheduled collection date
Supplier Facilities
Supplier facilities are to be arranged for stock from suppliers in the vicinity of the branch, where possible

Credit Applications are to be completed and forwarded to Head Office for finalisation
