Responsibilities:


  • Assist in Drafting and/or reviewing legal letters, contracts and agreements and monitor legal obligations under agreements to ensure compliance, as requested.
  • Assist in the formulation, implementation and/or amendment of Company policies.
  • Handle communication with the clients, witnesses as instructed
  • Proofreading the legal documents as required.
  • Prepare case briefs and summarized depositions and testimonies
  • Scheduling appointments, meetings, depositions, as directed
  • Conduct investigations and research
  • Filing pleadings electronically with lawyers/ courts as directed
  • Monitor deadlines and prioritise matters accordingly
  • Assisting with presentations to existing clients, prospective clients, and other industry related seminars.
  • Prepare weekly legal reports
  • Manage all legal files (electronic and manual)

Qualifications, competencies, knowledge and experience required

  • Relevant legal qualification
- +3 years experience in a the legal field

  • Demonstrate strong drafting skills, proofreading, and attention to detail.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate to attorneys, staff and clients.
  • Must be flexible in order to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities and to follow up and follow through.
  • Able to work under tight deadlines, handle multiple, detailed tasks simultaneously, prioritize appropriately and delegate to resources available.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills and consistently deliver high quality work product.

Contract length: 12 months


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • Administrative office procedures, practices and equipment: 3 years (required)

License/Certification:

  • Drivers licence (required)
