Description

Reporting - Reporting of capital for regulatory, internal and group submissions on a quarterly, half-yearly and annual basis including understanding of drivers for the capital movements.


This includes:

  • Managing the delivery dates and reviewing submissions.
  • Maintaining and improving the tools used in the various processes e.g., tools to estimate capital outside of year end and interims.
  • Driving consistent methodologies for capital used in reporting of various metrics e.g., Frictional cost and cost of nonhedgeable risk used in VNB reporting, risk adjustment (for IFRS17), return on capital during pricing of new products or developing business cases for launch of different products.
  • Producing capital sensitivity results.

Producing / Monitoring Balance Sheets of life entities.

  • Capital forecasting projections as part of the annual Business Plan process and regular capital allocation updates.
  • Scenario testing of capital levels under a range of scenarios (for the annual ORSA process as well as adhoc when required).
  • SAM reporting for group returns.
  • Ensuring fit for purpose processes in place with robust processes in place for material entities.
  • Specification of runs required from level one models.
  • Designing processes for asset shocks.
  • Working with Group Regulatory team.
  • Developing detailed knowledge of capital and fungibility requirements for different jurisdictions.
  • Business support through providing executive team with analysis of impact of proposed
    balance sheet changes on overall capital (e.g., change of ownership structure, business acquisition / disposal).
  • Earnings at risk metric production that forms part of the ORSA as well as the business' governance framework.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science
  • Min 4 years actuarial experience.
  • Skilled in use of financial modelling software
  • Knowledge of reporting process and systems would be advantageous.
