Description
Purpose Of the Role:
The cashier will oversee processing and receiving accurate payments.
Working the cash register (processing payments, issuing receipts).
Greeting customers and helping them with any questions they may have.
Key Performance Arears:
- Manage transactions with customers using cash registers
- Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate
- Collect payments whether in cash or credit
- Issue receipts, refunds, change or tickets
- Redeem stamps and coupons
- Crosssell products and introduce new ones
- Resolve customer complaints, guide them, and provide relevant information
- Greet customers when entering or leaving the store
- Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas
- Track transactions on balance sheets and report any discrepancies
- Bag, box or giftwrap packages
- Handle merchandise returns and exchanges
- Assist when and where needed Key Performance Indicators
- Accurately ring up all purchases
- Balance till at the end of the day or shift with the store manager
- Greet all clients who approach the till
- Always maintain a friendly demeanour
- Build good relationships with clients and store staff
- Build product knowledge
- Maintain till area to a high standard
- Packing and wrapping to required, specified standard
- Efficient picking, transferring, completion of refunds and exchanges
- Basic PC knowledge.
- Good math skills.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Customer satisfaction oriented.
