Minimum Requirements:


Lecturer

  • A minimum of 3 years' teaching experience at tertiary level OR 3 years' experience in a relevant associated professional field.

Additional Recommendations:


  • Be willing to register for doctoral study within two years of appointment.
  • Evidence of research or creative output activities.
  • Teaching experience at a university of technology or equivalent institution.
  • Experience in teaching and learning technologies, including elearning.
  • Experience in teaching English secondlanguage students.
  • Possess a working knowledge of Interior Design relevant software, such as Autodesk and Adobe Creative Cloud or be willing to attend training and obtain certification on appointment.
  • Possess professional industry experience in interior design that is reflected in a design portfolio.

Summary of Duties:


  • Teach in the Interior Design Programme.
  • Set and mark tests, assignments and portfolios.
  • Develop learning materials.
  • Engage in administration duties.
  • Assist with curriculum development.
  • Develop materials specific for online learners.
  • Participate in individual and/or programme research projects.
  • Attend meetings prescribed by the Head of Department.
  • Undertake appropriate duties as assigned by the Programme Coordinator/Head of Department.
