RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming
  • Wash windows, glass, and mirrors using soapy water or appropriate cleaners, sponges, and squeegees
  • Develop an efficient cleaning schedule
  • Maintain all public spaces or surroundings in an orderly manner
  • Thoroughly clean all sanitary fixtures, equipment, and areas daily
  • Arrange, replenish, and manage cleaning tools and materials
  • Adhere to protocols for using cleaning agents and power tools to prevent damage
  • Properly utilize general cleaning tools and chemicals
  • Clean walls as necessary
  • Procure supplies and equipment for cleaning and upkeep when required
  • Empty garbage bins
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Promptly report any defects or repair needs to management
  • Sanitize sinks, faucets, draining boards, and basins throughout the premises
  • Address spills, glass breakages, and other safety hazards promptly
  • Maintain cleanliness of both male and female restrooms
  • Carry out maintenance tasks associated with cleaning equipment

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 2 years' cleaning experience
  • Matric certificate or equivalent preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar position
  • Available for morning and evening shifts, including weekends
  • Fluent in English
  • Capable of following and executing instructions
  • Proficient in cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Computer literate
  • Physically fit to perform cleaning tasks, including bending and stretching, and ability to stand for extended periods

ADVANTAGEOUS:

  • Flexibility with changing schedules, good time management
  • Telephone etiquette (backup for reception)
