Our client requires the services of a Port Operations Controller to join their team.

This person must have the following qualifications and/or experience:

Main Functions:

Must have knowledge of the KZN port operations, systems, business and methods in place for export containers and import containers, experience in understanding and working with the port Navis system.
Must have experience working with shipping lines and clearing agents, familiar with turnaround times of containers, port days, other external transport companies and container depots.

Minimum Requirements:

Must have a Grade 12 qualification.
Preferably qualifications in Logistics (diploma or degree or studying towards one).
Minimum 2 years' experience in a coordinating role.
Must be computer literate (Excel and Word essential).
Good interpersonal skills are essential.
Must have excellent communication skills all round, verbal and written.
Must be able to confidently liaise with representatives from outside transport companies
Own transport.
Ability to work long hours and under pressure.
Sound administrative knowledge/experience essential.
Prior transport related experience beneficial
