Our growing client, a prominent renewable energy provider that has been operating in South Africa for 11 years, is seeking a Legal Associate with a strong background in corporate law and project finance to join their team in Johannesburg.

This is a full-time position, with the requirement of working in-office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, while Tuesdays and Thursdays can be done remotely.


Duties:


  • Manage the legal inputs required for proposals and ongoing projects
  • Provide legal advice on contract documents, risks, project financial agreements, sales negotiations, and changes throughout the agreement
  • Advise on general corporate law/project finance matters
  • Play a constant advisory and guidance role for the business development, engineering and finance teams

Requirements:


  • LLB or related Law degree and an admitted attorney
  • A postgraduate qualification in environmental, contract law, or project finance would be highly advantageous
  • Must have 25 years of experience in corporate law
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • People's person with a cando, entrepreneurial attitude
  • Obtain a real passion for the renewable energy industry sector
