KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Inspections of alarm system, gas tanks and pumps, CO2 system and pest control stations.
  • Update of safety board
  • Testing of fire alarm and sprinklers
  • Inspection of fire extinguishers, fire hoses and seals and hydrants.
  • Replace (if applicable) washers and seals of hydrants.
  • Painting where necessary
  • Installation of fire extinguishers and signs
  • Cleaning of smoke detectors
  • Responsible for on and off switch of fire water when necessary
  • Assist with hot work
  • Change CO2 extinguishers when empty
  • Assist Contractors
  • Induction training of contractors / service providers
  • Any other procedures, policies or structures that maybe put into effect in the future by management, will automatically be come part of the basic Job description.
  • Over and above aforementioned responsibilities, you will serve your Customers (both internal and external) in such a way that our Company objectives are met regarding quality of product and service.
  • You are responsible for taking corrective and preventative action whenever necessary during the execution of your duties. Such action may involve reporting the problem to your Supervisor to ensure the proper and correct handling of the situation.

KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 1
  • Minimum of 2 years practical fire prevention and control experience in an industrial environment
  • Excellent English verbal and written skills.
  • Eye for detail.
  • Good grasp of Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

Up to R10,811.77 per month
