Planning
- Develop a Safety System designed to identify, predict and eliminate hazardous situations throughout the organization
- Implement mechanism to deliver improvement on identified focus areas
- Assess what is required to establish necessary basics for ZERO Incidents / accidents
- Ensure compliance to OSHA, Legal requirements and maintenance of statutory documentation
- Design programs & processes that would ensure no harm to all employees
- Design / Implement / Review Incident Action Plan for Safety throughout the organization
Organizing
- Ensure preparation and implementation of Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP)
- Review Site Safety Policies for robustness and operational rollout and compliance
- Work with Cross-Functional Teams in ensuring compliance and rolling out of continuous improvements
- Develop programs that will identify and eliminate incidents / accidents
- Establish data collection mechanism for tracking / trending for the purposes of conducting necessary analysis to eliminate incidents / accidents
- Establish mechanism to implement appropriate tools and methodologies to be used to achieve ZERO incidents / accidents
Implementation
- Conduct Risk Assessment(s) based on various processes and operations
- Identify and assess hazards, risks and control measures for different specific operations or processes.
- Conduct ongoing review of operations and processes to identify potential hazards, risks and control measures that should be implemented to reduce these risks
- Build capability with Cross-Functional Teams on the use of tools and methodology in order to sustain
- Implement Internal Audits to measure the compliance and identify gaps on the progress of Safety Standards
- Assess Safety Skills gaps in order to influence integrated Safety Action Plan
- Implement Safety Pyramid Tool (Heinrich) to record, monitor and to analyse safety data in order to implement countermeasures that would ensure ZERO incidents / accidents
- Review and observe Legal and company requirements and ensure they are well understood and there is a clear compliance analysis to check the non-conformities
- Establish SHE Committee Meetings to continuously review and define Site Safety Action Plan
- Assume responsibility to educate, promote and coordinate safety action plan amongst crossfunctional teams and shopfloor
- Implement Safety Culture basics orientated towards maintaining and sustaining proactive approach amongst employees
- Drive Behavioural safety compliance through Behavioural Safety observation principles
- Drive Capability building on Unsafe Acts and Unsafe Conditions monitoring systems
- Drive awareness on Safety regulatory principles and how they influence Safety Action Plan for the Site
- Drive sustenance of a safety culture through understanding human nature and relevant multilevel skills base in order to drive total compliance

- Increased recording of Near Misses (NM)
- Increased recording of Unsafe Conditions (UC)
- Increased recording of Unsafe Acts (UA)
- Analysis of Incidents with Root Causes
- Use of appropriate Tools to investigate all incidents
- Horizontal expansion methodology to implement countermeasures on the model area and rest of the organization
- Implement LUTI (Learn-UseTeach-Inspect) methodology to build capability within the organization
ACCOUNTABILITES & AUTHORITIES
Ensure Correct Levels of Compliance
- Drive compliance to legal requirements and company regulations
- Drive the process of monitoring and assessing hazardous and unsafe situations through risk assessment
- Develop measures to assure employee safety through Deep Compliance Audits
- Correct unsafe acts and conditions through employee engagements
Program Design
- Implementing programs set out to eliminate hazards throughout the organization
- Develop programs to implement robust procedures for new processes review current based on gaps identified through risk assessments
Monitoring
- Implement Safety Reporting methodology statistics to enable appropriate analysis to monitor improvement in problem areas
- Create / review / improve documentation required to maintain safety systems
OSHA Liaison
- Prepare the organization for external audits in accordance with regulatory statutes
- Assume Liaison Responsibility with OSHA between Organization and relevant authority
- Assume development of Reports for Organization Leadership with relevant recommendations, inputs and action plans
- Manage Reports and documentation required by regulatory bodies and all government agencies
