Main Purpose:


Requirements include:


  • A Psychology Masters degree.
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
  • Passion for working with students.
  • Three years' experience as a practising psychologist.
  • Experience in supervising psychology interns.
  • Experience of work in a tertiary institution.

Responsibilities:


The successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Provide psychological and therapeutic services to undergraduate and post-graduate students in the Faculty of Health Sciences.
  • Consult with individual clients and also work with groups.
  • Drive initiatives to raise awareness and advocate on mental health issues.
  • Provide supervision to intern psychologists.
  • Design intervention programmes.
  • Prepare documentation and reports for relevant committees.

Recommendations:


  • Experience in crisis management will be an added advantage.
  • Progress towards conceptualising a PhD or intention to register for a PhD is recommended.
