Human Capital Operations Manager

Cape Town


Our client, is a leading retail holding company, represents a number of leading international footwear and clothing brands in South Africa.

This position proactively provides support services to all business units within the company by overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the business' HR Policies, including Payroll, HR Administration and Compliance.

The ideal incumbent is an individual with a passion for employee relations, with a strong EQ and a proven track record of employee facilitation relations.


Requirements:


  • A relevant HR qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with operational and strategic HR service delivery.
  • Sound knowledge or industrial relations, LRA, BCEA, UIA, EEA and OHSA.
  • Advanced knowledge of payroll systems and processing, knowledge of Sage 300 will be advantageous.
  • Handson experience with Human Resources Information Systems
  • Ability to develop clear and fair company policies
  • Sound team management skills.
  • Highly empathetic with an ability to develop strong, trusting and mutually beneficial relationships, and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability and hunger to strive for continuous improvement and lead change.
  • Be a deep specialist in IR [disciplinary and grievance procedures].
  • This position will require the HR Operations Manager to travel periodically to various national branches.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong EQ.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organisational diagnosis, diversity, performance management, and relevant employment laws.
  • Assertive in approach coupled with confidence in area of expertise and the ability to facilitate business conversations.
  • Maintains a clear and detailed knowledge of the industry trends, best practices, and labour legislation.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively and maintain resilience in a changing environment.
  • Strong relationship management and demonstrated collaborative skills in working with multidimensional environments.
  • A true team player, able to comfortably navigate staff across all sectors of the business.

Responsibilities:

Internal HR policies, procedures, and processes:_

  • Design, development, review and implement HR related policies within the Company;
  • Ensure that all employees are familiar with, adhere to and comply with all Company policies and procedures within the Human Resources domain;
  • Develop and implement internal HR Portal knowledge library
  • Ensure familiarization, adherence and compliance with all applicable ISO 9001 processes and procedures within the HR Function.

HR Management_

  • Evaluate team performance on an ongoing basis;
  • Develop, design, review and maintain all HR related policies and/or processes;
  • Manage HR budget as per action plans and time frames;
  • Manage entire HR operational process within the Company;
  • Ensure that all personnel data is up to date and accurate both in print format and electronic format including maintenance of personnel files;
  • Administer the entire HR management system, ESS and payroll;
  • Oversee the management of the pension fund administration;
  • Oversee and manage Office Facilities and team
  • Provide operational human resources advice through partnership with all business units and the Company companies;
  • Guide on all Company wide HR operational matters.
  • Monitor and report on key HR metrics
  • Develop and manage HR Dashboard
  • Provide insight to key people data analytics
  • Responsible for selfdevelopment by keeping abreast of new developments within the industry related to area of responsibility.

Benefit Management:_

  • Ensure that the HR department provides daytoday benefits administration services and daily assist employees with any queries;
  • Ensure that continuous benefits orientations and other benefit training for employees are in place;
  • Administer the budget plan and completes yearly compliance reporting;
  • Ensure that worker's compensation claims are managed;
  • Recommend changes in benefits offered, especially new benefits aimed at employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Leave Liability management and reporting
  • Management of Employee Wellness Programme and drive key initiatives.

Payroll management:_

  • Manage electronic system via Sage 300;
  • Ensure the smooth running of the payroll process and that all Payroll reports are up to date and accurate;
  • Ensure that payroll preparations, submissions and exporting to bank for payments are actioned;
  • Ensure that all IRP5's are timely submitted and that HR Dept distribute same annually;
  • Monthly check all payroll before finalization;
  • Export of salaries for finance department;
  • Monthly incorporate payslip data onto the ESS
