Description

The Project Consultant will form part of a growing team engaged in a downstream Oil & Gas sector client programme with a focus on contaminated land assessment and remediation projects.

The incumbent should thus have a proven track record of working at petroleum retail sites for one or more of the petroleum majors.

The opportunity will also exist for the consultant to participate in other SLR key client projects within the mining, waste and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical input into all facets of contaminated site projects including Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) and remediation projects.
Leading field datacollection programs involving sampling and monitoring of soil, groundwater, vapour, aquifer testing and remediation systems.
Coordinate laboratory services and interpret/visualize environmental data.
Input to technical reports.
Build professional knowledge by keeping up to date with specialist area trends and best practice
Offer ideas around how to improve process and/or policy to deliver better more effective and efficient service
Work to agreed budgets and timeframes, and seeks advice and agreement where there are conflicting requirements or impracticalities
Carry out appropriate business administration/ coordination tasks to support the SLR's business and quality management system.
Communicate clearly with peers, colleagues, clients, subcontractors, as applicable, to ensure understanding and alignment around work
Build successful and effective working relationships with immediate colleagues, team and within the office to ensure delivery of tasks and to strengthen knowledge/ resource base
Participates in own career development, including contributing to and achieving development goals
Effectively respond to specific internal client enquiries on existing work procedures or past work.
