Job Advert Summary:


PURPOSE:


  • To be the functional expert at the Business Unit regarding Enterprise Risk Management & Governance.
  • Lead and manage the BU's governance & risk process.
  • Provide quarterly risk reports to GLRC.
  • Coordinate Business Continuity Management Activities at the Business Unit.
  • Coordinate Combined Assurance activities.
  • Coordinate assurance activities and closing of findings linked to the business unit.
  • Coordinate conflict of interest declaration and training.
  • Liaising with departments at the BU to ensure compliance to policy templates.

Minimum Requirements:


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • BCom (Hons) Risk Management (Essential/Minimum or)
  • B Degree (Hons) (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum)
  • Management Development Programme (Recommended/Desirable)

EXPERIENCE:

6-8 years Relevant Enterprise Risk Management, Governance and Business Continuity management experience. Relevant experience in Enterprise Risk Management practices, laws and regulations within the mining environment. Knowledge of good corporate governance and policy development. (Essential/Minimum) Operational


REQUIREMENTS:


  • Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)
  • Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
  • The Institute of Risk Management SA (Essential/Minimum or)
  • Institute of Internal Auditors (Essential/Minimum)

Duties & Responsibilities:


Business Continuity Management

  • Identification of Business Continuity Risks (BIA).
  • Coordinate implementation and updating of Business Continuity Management (BCM) plan for the Business Unit.
  • Ensure appointment of BCM roles are maintained at the Business Unit.
  • Assist the risk team with testing of Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and updating of BCP.
  • Assist GLRC in compilation of reports regarding business continuity status of business unit.
  • Maintain BCM documentation and filing system.

Combined Assurance

  • Provide input into the Combined Assurance Plan
  • Monitor progress on combined assurance for the Business Unit.
  • Coordinate and assisting with internal and external audits.
  • Support management to close out of audit reports.
  • Track implementation of management actions as identified in assurance findings relevant to risk mitigation/controls.
  • Facilitate timely identification, escalation, resolution, and follow
- up for all outstanding issues by way of liaising with internal audit with regards to audits done at Business Units.

  • Reporting on the status of audit findings to BU management and Combined Assurance Forum.

Governance

  • Facilitate collection, organising and maintaining data to support reporting and decisionmaking processes.
  • Provide training and awareness on governance requirements at the Business Unit.
  • Assist with implementation of improvements to governance processes appropriate for transparent reporting and disclosure.
  • Submission and quality assurance of governance reports to Governance Specialist.
  • Coordinate conflict of interest declaration and training at the Business Unit.

Policy Management

  • Consolidation of policies to avoid inconsistencies and duplication.
  • Monitoring adherence to policies.

Risk Management

  • Provide business unit risk management oversight and guidance.
  • Facilitate & coordinate risk management training at the Business Unit.
  • Facilitate risk review sessions with functional heads and BU Management at the Business Unit to ensure risk information is updated for quarterly review purposes.
  • Submission of quarterly risk reports to GLRC for Minerals Risk Committee meetings after BU visit conducted by GLRC.
  • Monitor effectiveness of risk treatment plans.

  • Maintain and ensure a healthy environment, safe operations practices, ensuring compliance with all applicable Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) policies/procedures in line with set standards.
  • Encourage a culture that focuses on safety in all operations.

  • Support business unit by ensuring appropriate stakeholder relationships toward enhancing effectiveness
