My client, an established wheat manufacturer based in the Northern Suburbs is seeking to employ a Distribution Manager with a relevant degree and min - 5 years' experience in a similar role.

Main responsibilities:


Warehouse Management:

  • Storage Activities
  • Housekeeping
  • Food and safety
  • Maintain building according to Audit standards
  • Security

Inventory Management:

  • Stock management
  • Security
  • Oversee documentation (Invoices and Inventory)

Transportation:

  • Route planning
  • Loading of vehicles
  • Ensure documentation is correct
  • Manage external transporters
  • Training of staff

Fleet Management:

  • Vehicle maintenance
  • Fuel management
  • Occupational Health and Safety (OHASA)
  • Food Safety
  • Staff Management

Procurement:

  • Source and interview suppliers & negotiate agreements.
  • Determine the lowest cost for products/materials without compromising quality.
  • Purchase supply of products/material to fulfill operation requirement.
  • Receive orders & document and sign off arrivals.

Requirements:


  • Relevant tertiary (B.Comm or similar) qualification
  • Min 5 years relevant experience
  • Previous management experience essential
  • Willing to work / manage one weekend per month
