Project Management Office (PMO) Manager - Pretoria - Gauteng (remote)

Our client is looking to employ a

Project Management Office (PMO) Manager, this role will primarily be focused on project governance, providing oversight and support to ensure that projects are well-managed, aligned with organizational and customer objectives, and meet established standards and methodologies. The individual in this position plays a key part in ensuring projects adhere to best practices, provide appropriate guidance, and support, and maintain effective communication with stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes.


Requirements:


  • Postgraduate qualification in relevant field.
  • Project Management related certification, such as PMBOK or equivalent (preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in managing a Project Office, with at least 4 years of experience in a leadership capacity.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting, Risk Management Competence, Stakeholder Management, Quality Control Management, Budgeting and Financial Management and Project Management Software Proficiency

Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Demonstrates strong leadership by setting and aligning the Project Office Strategy with clear strategic and operational initiatives, plans, and business objectives, while providing vision and guidance for the formulation, development, and successful implementation of all projectrelated initiatives.
  • Establishes and enforces standardized approaches, processes, and procedures to improve project outcomes and reduce risks.
  • Ensures that activities comply with project governance parameters and adhere to the approved quality standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversees and manages project priorities and dependencies based on budgets, timelines, and client expectations. Validates business case, scopes, and conducts profitability analysis of proposed projects. Oversees the seamless handover of projects, encompassing project commercials and ensuring favorable profit margins.
  • Identifies and leverages appropriate resources, coordinates inputs, and collaborates with crossfunctional teams to drive highquality project initiatives within expected time frames and on budget. Monitors progress, prioritizes emerging issues,
- manages risk, workflows and ensures professional change management.

  • Managing primary resources in the organization as well as managing clients' resources on a project where necessary.
  • Communicates effectively with other members of the development team and contributes to team efforts.
  • Identifies and captures internal and client project risks. Evaluates, escalates, and manages identified risks to projects to monitor and track the impact of risks on project delivery.
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive budget plans for projects, closely monitoring expenditures and allocating resources effectively to ensure projects are completed within the approved budgetary constraints. Ensure effective maintenance and tracking of project profitability against established parameters. Manages expenses against an approved budget
- with no unexplained variances.

  • Effectively manages and develops team members through implementing peoplerelated policies and procedures.
  • Implements an individual development plan with clear milestone goals.
  • Accepts responsibility for the execution of work in a professional, reliable, and consistent manner.
