Description
The responsibility of the Head of Finance is not exhaustive and may change from timeto-time as decided by Management.

  • Manage the finance department on a daily basis to ensure timeous and accurate
reporting.

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Preparation and submission of consolidated results.
  • Preparation of month end journals.
  • Reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
  • Cash management.
  • Review all invoicing which is prepared by the finance department in order to ensure that these are correct and accurate.
  • Monthly awards calculation.
  • Manage the annual audit.
  • Preparation of the annual financial statements.
  • Management of all insurance policies/renewals.
  • Weekly recon meetings with verification and IT to ensure proper management of
sales sending, pendings and rejections.

  • Calculate the annual tax charge and completed the annual tax return.
  • Calculation and completion of provisional tax returns.
  • Submission of annual returns to CIPC.
  • Updating of CIPC records as and when required.
  • Update and maintain secretarial information.
  • Authorisation of cashbook, creditors and salary payments.
  • Provide management with information as and when required.
  • Assist with any task that may arise from time to time in the finance department.
  • Preparation of conversion reports as well as commentary which is sent to client development and executive management.
  • Assist with compiling of annual budget.
  • Collate and prepare information for the annual BEE verification.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • CA with 3 years post article experience
  • Experience with tax calculation and submitting thereof to SARS, including dividend
withholding tax

  • Good professional etiquette
  • Presentable
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Confidentiality when dealing with people and documentation
  • Trustworthy, honest and reliable
  • Able to work on a team and work well with other members of staff
  • Proficient in office suite (excel, word, exchange)
  • Own transport
  • Attention to detail
  • Maintain sound relationships with all stakeholders
  • Strong and up to date technical skills
  • Staff management
