KEY INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONS

  • Patients awaiting stem cell transplants
  • Head of Medical
  • Medical Team
  • The companies International Patient Services Team
  • Healthcare professionals and medical advisers
  • Colleagues in other companies internationally
  • Donor Recruitment and Administration/Data Management team colleagues
  • Communications and Public Relations Teams

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities will be to develop a Patient Aid Programme and to provide patients and their families with patient care services and support


This will include:

1.

Conceptualisation of the Patient Aid Programme:


  • Initial conception and continuous further development of the new Patient Aid program for patient care with the involved department heads
  • Exchange with sites abroad on the strategic design of the program
  • Close cooperation with other departments, especially in the area of public relations
  • Design and maintenance of a web presence for patients
  • Establishment and maintenance of a database of patientrelevant service offerings

Relevant patient and family communications:


  • Empathic, caring counselling of patients in acute crisis situations
  • Arranging contacts with physicians for patients and family members, including support in obtaining second opinions
  • Telephonic and online media inquiries about individual needs, and recommendations for a selection of appropriate patient programs
  • Making contact with the registry coordinator to clarify donor search for a patient

Interface function:


  • Coordination with DR and DPC (Donor Patient Contact Department) on patient groups
  • Reporting of stories with media impact to other departments (marketing, press, etc.)
  • Arranging for patients and relatives to contact doctors and selfhelp groups

Data Maintenance:


  • Maintains and updates patient data for the patient population being served
  • Documents relevant information in accordance with Data Protection legislation
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE

Registered Nursing or Social Work Qualification, including:

  • Successfully completed studies (at least Bachelor) with focus on psychology, pedagogy or comparable.
  • At least three years relevant professional experience
  • Experience in the medical field

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Good medical knowledge in the field of oncology and/or expertise in patient care.
  • Advanced English skills
  • Good knowledge of Word, Excel, basic knowledge of PowerPoint
  • Basic knowledge of databases
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
