  • Here is an exciting opportunity to join our Platinum Business as a Shaft Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the specialist Survey and Evaluation services and expertise at a Shaft. The work focus timeframe is 1 to 5 years, but some plans may have a longer timeframe. In terms of the MSHA it is a 17.2 appointment

**Job Description

  • The focus areas for this role will be to**:
  • Coordinating Survey and Evaluation services and managing the activities of the Survey and Evaluation Teams.
  • Planning monthly Survey and Evaluation requirement and priorities and compiling Survey and Evaluation plans.
  • Achieving optimum surveying standards and establishing onMine Survey Standards.
  • Coordinating Effective Usage of Equipment and Implementing measurements and planning system.
  • Achieving legal compliance (Survey), Maintaining MPRDA survey legal compliance and Issuing survey instructions and notifications.
  • Maintaining DMR plans and monthly reporting according to standard.
  • Preparing mine plans (Survey) and ensuring availability of electronic production Survey plans.
  • Compiling survey and evaluation plans, maintaining survey plans.
  • Surveying monthly production and measuring monthly production within electronic environment.
  • Maintaining electronic survey plans and measuring underground excavations.
  • Investigate and implement new technology.
  • Summarizing and reporting of measurement information.

This role is in the MRM Department at a Band 6 level reporting to the Chief Surveyor.
**Qualifications

  • You will be required to have**:
  • Minimum requirement: Mine Surveyors Certificate of Competency.
  • Competent as 17.2 appointment.
  • Advantageous: GDE, NHD, B Tech.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:


  • 5 years' experience in Underground Mine surveying and at least 2 years in the managerial position.
  • Additional experience in Mine Evaluation
Additional Information

  • Valid driver's license code 0
  • Computer literate for necessary systems
  • If successful, you may be required to undergo a Medical Fitness Test
