JOB SUMMARY:


The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining Banxso's financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data within the organization.


The role involves recording daily financial transactions, reconciling of accounts, and generating financial reports playing a vital role in supporting the financial health of Banxso by organizing and managing financial information.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Financial Data Entry:
Accurately review, process and record financial transactions in Pastel or ledgers, including invoices, receipts, reimbursements and company expenses.


Reconciliation:
reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to ensure the accuracy of financial records.


Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, bill payments, and collections.


General Ledger Maintenance:

Maintain the general ledger up to trial balance, which includes recording all financial transactions, categorizing expenses, and daily updating of account balances.


Financial Reporting:

Generate financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis to provide insights into the Banxso's financial health.


Budget Tracking:

Assist in the development and tracking of budgets, comparing actual financial results to budgeted figures and reporting any variances.


Tax Preparation:

Prepare and maintain records for tax-related activities, such as calculating tax, payroll tax, and income tax liabilities ensuring compliance with tax regulations.


Payroll Management:

approval of monthly payroll ensuring that payroll has been processed accurately by calculating employee salaries, commissions, deductions, and taxes, and ensure timely payment to employees.


Financial Analysis:
Assist in analyzing Banxso's financial data to identify trends, opportunities for cost savings, and areas of financial concern.


Financial Record Keeping:

record and classify financial transactions accurately including invoices, payments, receipts, journal entries by maintaining organized and secure financial records and documentation, ensuring compliance with record-keeping regulations.


Financial Compliance:

calculate and prepare monthly/annual tax submissions (EMP201, EMP501) and submit to SARS to ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, regulatory bodies, and internal policies.


Audit Support:
Assist in the preparation for financial audits, provide required documentation, and cooperate with auditors as necessary.


Communication:
Collaborate with team members and departments to provide financial information and respond to inquiries about financial transactions and reports.


Ad Hoc Projects:
participate in special financial projects and execute as assigned by the CFO, General or Finance Manager.


QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

A certificate in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or a related field is preferred but not always required.

  • 5 years proven experience as a bookkeeper in a medium size organization
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Pastel) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance.
  • Analytical and problemsolving abilities.

Salary:
From R25,000.00 per month


Education:


  • Diploma (preferred)

Experience:


  • Bookkeeping: 5 years (required)
  • Pastel: 5 years (preferred)
