POSITION:
Production
Superintendent**



LOCATION :
PPC Aggregates Quarries

REPORTS TO:

General Manager**
NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 1**
DATE OF VACANCY: Immediate**- Manages the safe, legal,sustainable and cost-effective production of the good quality clinker also manages coal and clinker stocks and movement.


  • Also manages the shift supervisors' functions. Hires and, develops the Production workforce under him/her to deliver high quality and efficient services

Minimum Requirements:


  • Matric
  • Tertiary Qualification (Engineering qualification)
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree/Industrial Engineer
  • Basic electrical course will be an added advantage.
  • 5 years supervisory experience or Managerial position

  • SAP ERP
  • On Key


  • Microsoft Office

  • Intermediate
  • Industrial Control Software (SCADA)
  • Performance Management System
  • Achiever System,ISO EMS , QMS 9001 and OHS systems
  • People's and Managerial Skills
  • Cost Management experience
  • Budgeting

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Understanding of the plant maintenance and ensure preventative maintenance done regularly as planned.
  • Assign daily duties for improving plant safety and dust free operation.
  • Conduct regular Invocoms
  • Weekly and monthly operational report to GM / Any requested plant report
  • Be competent on SAP and offer technical support to the team
  • Adhere to month end closing deadlines
  • Overall responsibility for all plant activities including Logistics, Sales, Customer Service, Quality maintain relationship with Eskom and Sappi
  • Liaise with ash supplier(s) to understand their plant status and do appropriate planning to maximise ash extraction and in line with sales forecast.
  • Attend to customer issues and deal with nonconformances.
  • Develop your team and set KPIs and IDPs
  • Constantly reduce waste/cost with better planning optimising our process.
