Summery:


Safari Manager Plans and organizing safari tours or wildlife-focused trips for tourists they ensure the tours have an enjoyable and safe experience, they creating detailed itineraries that include various activities such as game drives, nature walks, wildlife spotting, and cultural experiences, and they have knowledge in local wildlife, ecosystems, and natural habitats so that they enhance the safari experience and provide insightful information to tourists.


Qualifications & Requirements:


  • Valid RSA Driver's License and PDP
  • First Aid
  • FGASA Level 2 (NQF4)
  • Firearm competency

Experience:


  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Big 5 reserve
  • Reserve management experience mandatory
  • Guiding background
  • Conservation background

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Meticulous in all aspects of Managing the Guiding Department
  • Managing, Overseeing and Disciplining Staff in the Guiding Department
  • Staff training and development
  • All administrative duties pertaining to the Guiding Department
  • Overseeing and Management of the Portfolio's Fleet
  • Allocation of rangers and trackers to daily game drives
  • Allocation of Airport Transfers
  • Guest Activity and Airport Transfers
  • Assistance around the lodge in other departments if needed
  • Make sure the guiding experience is of top standard.
  • Make sure the guiding department adheres to the conservation ideals of the property.
  • Conservation is key and the guiding department needs to portray that at all times.
  • Make sure all guiding equipment is well looked after.
  • Encourage qualification upgrade of guides.
  • Reporting to Group Operations Manager(s) and Head Office.
