Description

Our client, a reputable role player in footwear distribution is seeking an experienced, results-driven,
Buyer for the
Western Cape region.

You will form part of the procurement team and assist with the management of raw materials for the organization, overall department performance in relation to production needs, ultimately achieving organizational goals and targets.

Duties include the following, but not limited to:

Work closely with stakeholders (Sales, Production, Finance) to ensure materials are ordered and available as per production requirements.
Maintain supplier relationships, constantly reviewing their services to ensure the company is using the most suitable providers in the market.
Source materials, prepare proposals, request quotes, and negotiate purchase terms and conditions.
Prepare and issue purchase orders/agreements and track the progress thereof to ensure it is received on time.
Ensure product quality standards are met and resolve any issues, this includes returning goods on Defective material report.
Manage all documentation for imported goods, including shipping and clearing documents as well as accurate record keeping for internal stakeholders.
Conduct recons on outstanding purchase orders.
Ad hoc duties as required.

Requirements:

Matric or equivalent.
Relevant tertiary qualification.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in the similar role footwear and apparel would be advantageous.
Good working knowledge and experience in purchasing strategies.
Experience with imports and shipping.
Experience with relevant MRP/ERP systems.
Advanced Excel capabilities not negotiable

Salary:
R16 000 TCTC.
